Qualitative Data Analysis with MAXQDA Online

MAXQDA is a software for conducting qualitative and mixed methods analysis. Within an MAXQDA file, you can upload and analyze text, multimedia, or survey data in a way that helps you answer your research question. In this workshop, we will work towards an understanding of MAXQDA capabilities and explore how this tool can be used in your research plan.

This workshop does not assume any previous knowledge of MAXQDA or any other qualitative data analysis software.

By the end of the workshop, we expect that you will be able to:

  1. Describe how to access MAXQDA
  2. Describe the basic capabilities of MAXQDA, including:
    1. Data types that can be analyzed
    2. How to upload and analyze survey data
    3. How to manually and automatically code data
    4. Ways to view coded data using MAXQDAS analysis tools and
    5. Explore collaboration capabilitiesDescribe how the basic features of MAXQDA can be used in your own data analysis plan
