Qualitative Data Analysis with QualCoder Online
QualCoder is a free and open-source tool for analyzing qualitative data, including text, PDFs, and audio visual data. In this workshop, we’ll talk about installing QualCoder, setting up a coding system for text data, and viewing reports of coded data.
If you want to use QualCoder during the workshop, please be sure to download in advance.
Windows installation (video demonstration) | Mac installation (video demonstration)
Note: installation videos are by Temple University librarian Van Bich Tran, who has an excellent guide to QualCoder.
You may also be interested in Taguette, another free and open-source tool that has fewer features but is great for smaller text-based data sets and offers collaboration via the web. You can find workshop materials on Taguette on the QDA research guide. You can also find recordings of workshops on NVivo, Atlas.ti, and free tools for QDA on the guide.
For individual or small group consultations on QDA strategies and technology, you can schedule an appointment with Jess.
