Hub Training: Using Bing (and/or Google) to Discover Hard-to-Find Citations

In a recent citation analysis study of publications by University of Illinois affiliated authors, we examined Discovery sources to recreate possible search strategies by Illinois authors to find many of the grey literature, technical reports, government publications, open access items in institutional repositories, websites, preprints, etc. cited in their publications. This session will show the results of this citation analysis study and demonstrate the high representation of these resources in Bing and Google searches.
