Pushkin Birthday Poetry Reading - Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures - Library Room 220

The year 2019 marks the 220th anniversary of the birth of Aleksandr Pushkin (1799-1837), Russia’s most famous and beloved poet. To commemorate his legacy, the Slavic Reference Service (@SRSUIUC) is starting a semester-long celebration to honor the 220th anniversary of Pushkin's birth (#Pushkin220).

  1. Pushkin Birthday Poetry Party – The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures
  2. A poetry reading, entitled “Pushkin Birthday Poetry Party” will be held on Thursday, November. 7 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Main Library Room 220, organized by the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures (@slavicillinois) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

    The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures invites you to participate in the readings by reciting/reading a short poem or an excerpt (under 5 min) in Russian. Please register by filling out your information and providing a pdf version of your selected poem/excerpt in Russian and, if available, an English translation (as a separate file).

    Refreshments will be served.
