Online Seminar: Academic Library Response to COVID-19 - CIRSS All are welcome to attend via Zoom

On Friday, April 10, from 4:00-5:00 p.m., the Center for Informatics Research in Science and Scholarship (CIRSS) at the iSchool at Illinois will hold a seminar on the Academic Library Response to COVID-19. iSchool affiliate professor Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe, who is professor and coordinator for information literacy services and instruction at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library, and Christine Wolff-Eisenberg, manager of surveys and research at Ithaka S+R, will present the CIRSS seminar

Data Gathering and Dissemination in Real-Time: Academic Library Response to COVID-19.”

This talk will highlight the principles that guided the rapid development process of the U.S. Academic Library Response to COVID-19 survey, developed by Hinchliffe and Wolff-Eisenberg, which moved from conceptualization to deployment on March 11. Since then, it has been providing the academic library community with real-time reports and dashboards to inform decision making, benchmarking, and advocacy efforts by library workers at all levels, the infrastructures underlying the work, and how the co-leads manage the project working collaboratively at a distance—as well implications for crisis informatics and emerging thoughts on implications for leading libraries in emergency times.

All are welcome to participate via Zoom.
