Free Tools for Qualitative Data Analysis

No NVivo? No problem! Join us for a look at three free tools for qualitative data analysis: Taguette, QualCoder, and spreadsheet software. We’ll discuss what features are available in each tool and how they can help you implement qualitative data analysis strategies that help you answer your research questions. Learning Outcomes - By the end of the workshop, we expect you'll be able to: Access the web version of Taguette, upload text files, highlight and code text, and export coded data (if you’d like to use Taguette during the workshop, please create an account on their website). Describe the features of QualCoder in order to assess its utility for your research. Create a spreadsheet that structures qualitative data and describe how the structure of the spreadsheet can be used to answer qualitative research questions. This workshop will be offered in a hybrid format. You may attend in-person in Library 314 or via Zoom. The registration form asks you to indicate which format you plan to attend, but you may choose whatever format works best for you on the date of the workshop. The workshop will not be recorded, but you can find a previous recording of this workshop on the Qualitative Data Analysis guide.
