About the Self-Use Media Studios:

The Scholarly Commons Self-Use Media Studio is a sound isolated, one-room booth designed for audio and video recording of up to two people at once. Additionally, the studios can be used to edit media, participate in remote telepresence sessions, or livestream. [Please note that the studios are not 100% soundproofed. Operating at very high sound levels will be noticeable by outside listeners]

You can find instructions on how to operate the studio via signage on the wall in the studio. If you are having issues with the studio or have feedback to improve our services, please use the Scholarly Commons Spaces Feedback and Issue Reporting form.

The Self-Use Media Studio is unstaffed. If you need to schedule an in-person orientation, please use the Scholarly Commons Consultation Request form (please be aware that this will require several days advance notice and an initial response may take up to two business days).

Please bring removable media to transfer files after your session or plan to upload to cloud storage. If  you need a flash drive, book one of ours: flash drives. DO NOT RELY ON LONG-TERM STORAGE OF FILES ON THE STUDIO MACHINE – THE HARD DRIVE MAY BE WIPED AT ANY TIME.
